Outfit recently completed five Outdoor Fitness sites in the south and west of the country. All sites were installed for local councils in different parks and walkways.
In Cork we designed and installed three different sites across the county. In Schull, west Cork, we installed seven machines along a walkway in a local park. The walkway flanks the sea, and alongside the outdoor gym is a children’s playpark and tennis court. Read more about that here: www.schullcommunitycouncil.ie
About 40 minutes from Schull lies the larger town of Dunmanway. Here we installed another seven machines by a local school. The park is open to the local community free of charge in a lit up area. More on that here: www.southernstar.ie/article.php?id=3178
Our final site in Cork was in the picturesque town of Bantry, right on Cork’s lengthy coastline. We placed seven machines stretching the length of the promenade. It has made a beautiful addition to the newly upgraded Beicin Walk, along the water’s edge at Reenrour, on the outskirts of the town.
Further up the country we installed another two outdoor gyms in Roscommon Town and Boyle, County Roscommon. Roscommon town's new outdoor gym is located in the beautiful Castle Park in the heart of the town. It comprises 7 machines in one area beside a childrens playpark and locals have been using them non-stop. The park is regularly frequented by walkers young and old and all feedback has been extremelly positive! Boyle's Outdoor Gym is also located right in the centre of the town, also beside a children's playpark. It overlooks the gushing Boyle river and it has been remarked that once you have finished your workout you relax with a swim!! We think a walk following along the rivers path may be sufficient though!!
Collooney Opening Its Brand New Outdoor Gym Soon
We have recently installed a an Outdoor Gym in the town of Collooney, just outside Sligo Town. It comprises seven of our most popular machines and is located on the edge of the town alongside a children's playground. The official opening is planned for the middle of April and promises to be a fun day with the whole community very involved with the project from start to finish. Contact us for directions and more information if you would like to attend. We will be conducting demonstrations and question and answer sessions for anyone who would like to take part.
New Editorial Feature
We will have a full-page feature article every month in the newly launched "Mature Living" magazine. The magazine is aimed at seniors in the west of Ireland and already has a large readership. Our articles are going to range from detailing the benefits of exercise to giving some guidelines on nutrition to some fun facts and busting some myths about the world of fitness. The magazine is released in the middle of each month so keep an eye out for that!
