Community Recognition Fund – New Grant Funding

The Irish government has recently announced a new range of grant funding available to help boost towns and communities that have taken in refugees from Ukraine. It is called the “Community Recognition Fund” and it is intended to develop local amenities and infrastructure such as local parks, sports clubs, and other facilities in recognition of the contribution being made by these communities in welcoming and hosting the new arrivals.

We’ve put together a short FAQ below on the grant to help you understand how it could benefit your community, and we would be happy to speak to you at any time to talk you through your options.

Get in touch with us today on 094 938 1088 or 086 190 2606 to learn more about it. You can also download the full grant specs from the link below.

The deadline for applications is 15th March this year, so time is short to get an application in.

When does the money need to be spent?

A minimum of 60% of the awarded funding must be spent in 2023, with the remainder to be spent in 2024.

What is my next step?

Applications can only be made by a local authority, so if you have a project in mind the next step is to contact your local authority and outline your project and requirements to them. They will assess local applications and requests and submit formal applications on your behalf.

Can OUTFIT help?

Yes! Our range of outdoor fitness and recreation equipment is a great choice to enhance any community and is fully funded and permissible under this grant. An outdoor gym, calisthenics/street workout area, MUGA, parkour park, or pump track would be a great choice.

We can supply a quick quotation and/or price list to go alongside your application and we have the capacity to deliver the work within the grant timelines.
